# Plenković HDZ longevity ## What this driver is Plenković HDZ longevity is one continuing Croatian mechanism: a prime minister who has chaired three cabinets since 19 October 2016, priced a 2017 Agrokor extraordinary-administration statute, a 17 May 2024 [Homeland Movement](/organizations/homeland-movement) coalition, and a 15 November 2024 health-minister dismissal after an EPPO file. It is a mechanism, not a Eurocrat brochure and not a Soviet-scope repression row. The driver is not Franjo Tuđman’s 1990s HDZ as a second name on this page. It is not Ukraine and not Karabakh. Neighbouring mechanisms — electoral integrity, [civic space](/drivers/civic-space) — can move with this file or against it. They do not replace it. Education, CPI, and WJP padding are not this family. The welfare sign of the driver on voice is negative: strengthening HDZ longevity as crisis-and-coalition arithmetic reduces a higher-is-better say-in-government reading. That is the opposite of treating 17 May 2024 as a civic dawn. ## Interactions and contested points The mechanism interacts with electoral integrity because three elections and three cabinets sit in the same person. Reinforcement is obvious when Agrokor, a Homeland Movement coalition, and Beroš sit in the same file. Offsetting is the claim that euro and Schengen rebates every dismissal. Those accessions are neighbouring. They do not cancel 7 April 2017. The strongest competing view is that a bookish Eurocrat merely kept the lights on.
