# Schoof asylum cabinet ## What this driver is Schoof asylum cabinet is one continuing Dutch mechanism: the independent former AIVD director who on 2 July 2024 swore as prime minister of a PVV–VVD–NSC–BBB cabinet after [Geert Wilders](/people/geert-wilders)’s 2023 election win, who fronted what coalition parties called the strictest-ever asylum policy, and whose cabinet collapsed on 3 June 2025 when PVV quit over asylum, after which he remained demissionary until 23 February 2026. It is a mechanism, not a civil-service brochure and not a Soviet-scope repression row. The driver is not a Wilders twin. Geert Wilders is live. It is not Ukraine. They do not replace it. It is weaker where “strictest ever” is coalition language rather than a single gazette statute.
