# Bóka coordinates Hungary's EU Council presidency

On 1 July 2024 Hungary took over the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union for six months, with [János Bóka](/people/janos-boka), the minister for EU affairs, in charge of coordinating it. The government adopted the slogan 'Make Europe Great Again', which drew criticism from several EU governments and institutions.
