# Bruno publishes De gli eroici furori

Date: 1585

## The fact

In 1585 [Bruno](/people/giordano-bruno) published De gli eroici furori, Italian dialogues of heroic frenzy in which love and intellect climb toward the infinite, a literary-philosophical public object from the same vernacular project as the 1584 cosmological books. It is not Cena, not the 1600 pyre, and not a nineteenth-century nationalist reprint as his act. He wrote verse-and-prose frenzy; shops sold it. The row stores cohesion through a shared Italian literary-philosophical language. Sidney’s circle is related colour.

## Context

A book of furori gathers readers around a common ascent story. That is cohesion, not a church. Petrarchan love-philosophy is the furniture; infinite universe is the horizon. Do not merge with 1600. Do not treat later Italian monument committees as 1585. Do not twin with Spaccio’s satirical expulsion of beasts, a different moral-satire title. Leaving England in 1585 as Castelnau was recalled is a displacement neighbour, not this colophon. A literary public can exist in an embassy orbit without becoming a parliament. Sidney and Greville are related hearers; 1585 recall of the ambassador is a displacement neighbour; a later Risorgimento reprint is not 1585.

Later competitions, monuments, translations, UNESCO listings, museums, and adaptations are not converted into extra lifetime acts.

## Evidence and sources

The British Library locates the Elizabethan-Italian print world that carried Bruno’s London books. The Cambridge Companion independently treats the Eroici furori as a distinct 1585 vernacular work. Official: https://www.bl.uk/. Independent: https://www.cambridge.org/core/books/cambridge-companion-to-giordano-bruno/. The records establish the 1585 title. They do not establish a unique later reading-club series. A missing Furori would change the row; a later nationalist poem would not; 1600 is not this dialogue. A missing 1585 Furori would change the row.

## Significance

Improving cohesion path: shared vernacular frenzy-philosophy. High confidence on 1585. Modest weight. Trial remains later legal harm. 1584 cosmology titles remain knowledge/education neighbours. Do not invent a unique modern social-capital coefficient.

Confidence is stated on the impact path, not hidden in adjectives. Eroici furori is not the trial and not a later Risorgimento poem. Mixed effects of Bruno publishes De gli eroici furori are separate paths.

## What is established and what is not

Established: Bruno published De gli eroici furori in 1585. Not established: that a later nation-state poem is this book, or that 1600 is this title. A showing of no 1585 Furori would change the row.

Shared responsibility is part of Bruno publishes De gli eroici furori. Naming Giordano Bruno does not delete co-authors, institutions, or later transmitters. The lag from 1585-01-01 to any measured indicator is not treated as zero. Alternative explanations — weather, other armies, later statutes, or independent cultural change — remain live where the sources do not close them.
