Suetonius and Dio print that at accession Gaius recalled exiles, published imperial accounts, and staged piety toward Tiberius’s will before breaking it. The dated English is the carrier. A brief transparency-and-amnesty turn is an improving instrument even if reversed.

## Context

Reversals are other rows. Erasing the opening months because the end was bloody is a cartoon. Confidence medium on motive, high that the sources bother to record a honeymoon.
