# Bundestag creates a 100 billion euro special defence fund

Date: 2022

On 3 June 2022 the Bundestag, with a two-thirds majority, amended Article 87a of the Basic Law and created a 100 billion euro special fund for the Bundeswehr. This is the legal core of Zeitenwende, distinct from the February speech.
