# Dobrindt orders rejection of asylum seekers at borders

On 7 May 2025 Interior Minister [Alexander Dobrindt](/people/alexander-dobrindt) ordered German police to turn back asylum seekers at the borders. In June 2025 the Berlin Administrative Court ruled that turning back three Somalis was unlawful, holding that people seeking asylum at a German border check cannot be sent back before the EU's Dublin procedure determines which country is responsible.
