# Pushkin speech at the Moscow celebrations, 8 June 1880

Date: 1880

## The fact

On 8 June 1880 [Dostoyevsky](/people/fyodor-dostoyevsky) delivered the Pushkin speech in Moscow, printed at once, arguing a universal-Russian vocation through the poet. It is not Karamazov and not the Diary’s ugliest civic pages, though the same late politics sit in the room.

## Context

Turgenev spoke other days; the hall wept as later told. Cohesion path: a shared literary cult. Mixed nationalism is why a polarising Diary row exists separately. He did not found a ministry of culture.

Shared responsibility is part of Pushkin speech at the Moscow celebrations, 8 June 1880. Naming Fyodor Dostoyevsky does not delete co-authors, institutions, or later transmitters. The lag from 1880-06-08 to any measured indicator is not treated as zero. Alternative explanations — weather, other armies, later statutes, or independent cultural change — remain live where the sources do not close them.

## Evidence and sources

Pushkin House at https://pushkinskijdom.ru/ is the academic neighbourhood of Pushkin-celebration files. Britannica at https://www.britannica.com/biography/Fyodor-Dostoyevsky independently marks the 1880 speech. Goslitmuz is another official locator.

Official or archival record: Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) (https://pushkinskijdom.ru/; IRLI RAS).

## Significance

A unifying literary oration is a cohesion path of high confidence and modest-to-moderate weight. It is not a unique inter-class peace series. Mixed Slavophile heat remains on other slugs.

## What is established and what is not

If a number is not in the two records named above, it is not supplied here.

Confidence is stated on the impact path, not hidden in adjectives. The speech is not the novel and not the antisemitic Diary numbers. Mixed effects of Pushkin speech at the Moscow celebrations, 8 June 1880 are separate paths.

The contribution type is direct. The attached driver is [social-cohesion](/drivers/social-cohesion). The welfare reading used in this dossier is improving. That reading is an impact-path choice, not a property stored on the Fact itself.
