# Brazil makes its basic-education fund (FUNDEB) permanent (2020)

On 26 August 2020, Brazil's Congress promulgated Constitutional Amendment 108, making FUNDEB permanent and constitutional. The amendment increased the federal complement to the fund from 10% to 23% gradually through 2026 and added quality and equity rules for distribution of compulsory-education resources.
