## The fact

On 5 June 2018 Ethiopia’s parliament lifted the state of emergency imposed after Hailemariam’s resignation protests, as Abiy announced acceptance of the Algiers framework with Eritrea.

## Context

The House voted the lift. He had already released prisoners. Accepting the Algiers award was the Eritrea track. He did not write Isaias’s reply. Later wartime emergencies are different dates.

The 9 July Asmara declaration is the neighbouring peace signature.

The prime minister of Ethiopia is chief executive under the 1995 constitution as amended, chairs the Council of Ministers, and commands the ENDF in practice. He does not write AU Assembly resolutions, OHCHR investigation reports, IMF board decisions, or Somali federal statutes.
