# Union adopts the Artificial Intelligence Act

Date: 2024

Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 of 13 June 2024 is the Union’s horizontal AI law, with prohibited practices, high-risk duties, and transparency rules. It was a Commission proposal under her presidency.
