# Council fails to reach a majority on nature restoration before a later compromise

On 25 March 2024 environment ministers could not assemble a qualified majority for the Nature Restoration Law. A later June compromise passed a weaker text. The failed vote is a completed Council act on a file [Timmermans](/people/env-frans-timmermans) had proposed as a stricter statute.
