# Commission and Tunisia sign a migration and economic memorandum

On 16 July 2023 the Commission President and Tunisia’s president signed a memorandum on migration, economy, and energy. Independent reporters and rights groups documented subsequent interceptions and desert dumpings of people on the move. The memorandum is a political instrument, not a regulation.
