# France promulgates the 2023 pension-age statute

Law 2023-270 of 14 April 2023 raises the legal pension age toward 64 and lengthens the contribution period. The Constitutional Council had trimmed some provisions on 14 April while letting the age rise stand. Promulgation is a completed legislative act, not a union negotiation.
