# France replaces the wealth tax with a real-estate levy

The 2018 finance law promulgated on 30 December 2017 abolished the solidarity wealth tax (ISF) and created a real-estate wealth tax (IFI). Financial and business assets left the base. The change was a first-term presidential commitment enacted by his majority.
