# Gabbard is confirmed as U.S. Director of National Intelligence

Date: 2025

On 12 February 2025, the U.S. Senate confirmed [Gabbard](/people/tulsi-gabbard) as Director of National Intelligence, placing her at the head of the U.S. intelligence community's coordinating structure. The office is responsible for integrating intelligence across agencies and advising the president on national-security assessments. Her confirmation therefore changed the practical significance of her earlier public judgments about foreign governments and intelligence claims. This fact records the appointment and institutional role without assigning an unsupported score to the quality of later intelligence products produced under her tenure.
