From the late 1770s, including dated work around 1778, the Park an der Ilm was shaped as an English landscape garden with [Goethe](/people/johann-wolfgang-von-goethe) as court planner among others. Later it became a public UNESCO landscape.

## Context

A park can be shared promenade and a display of princely land. Labour and title sit on serfdom/chamber rows.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is not the sole author of every later object, law, or museum label that uses the name.
