# Venezuelan court issues arrest warrant for Edmundo González

On 2 September 2024 a Venezuelan court issued an arrest warrant for opposition presidential candidate Edmundo González at the request of prosecutors, who accused him of conspiracy and usurpation over the opposition's publication of tally sheets claiming victory in the July election. Days later he left for Spain.
