# Parliament advances a surveillance law HRW says lacks safeguards

In December 2022, after Predatorgate, Greek lawmakers considered a surveillance bill Human Rights Watch said lacked effective privacy and oversight safeguards. A later spyware-sale ban was announced. A bill is a completed legislative act, not a finding that spyware stopped.
