# Brazilian prosecutors charge Greenwald over Car Wash leaks

On 21 January 2020 Brazilian federal prosecutors charged [Glenn Greenwald](/people/glenn-greenwald) with cybercrimes connected to The Intercept Brasil's stories on leaked messages from Car Wash prosecutors. The leaks, published by the outlet he co-founded, appeared to show coordination between then-judge [Sérgio Moro](/people/sergio-moro) and prosecutors. In February 2020 a judge declined to accept the charges.
