# Senate confirms Kimberly Guilfoyle as U.S. ambassador to Greece

Date: 2025

On 18 September 2025, the U.S. Senate confirmed [Kimberly Guilfoyle](/people/kimberly-guilfoyle) to serve as ambassador to Greece. Senate records list her nomination as PN54-7 and show the confirmation in an en bloc vote of 51-47. Her confirmation followed a July 2025 hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where she described security and economic ties with Greece as core priorities. This appointment established the official authority she later exercised in Athens and provides the institutional context for the [White House](/organizations/white-house) decision to seek her resignation in October 2026.
