In 1808 Friedrich Immanuel Niethammer, Hegel’s Tübingen friend then in Bavarian educational office, pulled [Hegel](/people/georg-wilhelm-friedrich-hegel) out of Bamberg journalism into the gymnasium service that became the Nuremberg rectorship. Niethammer signed reform; Hegel took the post. The row stores a network that converted a censored editor into a public teacher. It does not twin every Bavarian edict.
