# House holds Attorney General Holder in contempt of Congress

On 28 June 2012 the House of Representatives voted to hold Attorney General [Eric Holder](/people/eric-holder) in contempt for refusing to turn over documents on the 'Fast and Furious' gun-trafficking operation, the first such vote against a sitting cabinet member.
