# Hungary holds a child-protection referendum on the 2022 election day; the ballot is invalid

Date: 2022

On 3 April 2022, the same day as the parliamentary election, Hungary held a 'child protection' referendum on questions tied to the 2021 speech-and-education statute. The National Election Office recorded the ballot as invalid for lack of valid votes. OSCE described an uneven campaign field. This Fact is that dated referendum. It is not the 2021 statute taken alone, not the 2016 quota referendum, and not a personality. The National Election Office is the official result; Reuters is the independent contemporaneous file.
