# Hungary transfers MOL and Richter stakes to the MCC foundation

Date: 2020

On 19 May 2020 the [National Assembly](/organizations/national-assembly) adopted Act XXVI of 2020 on support for [Mathias Corvinus Collegium](/organizations/mathias-corvinus-collegium)'s talent programme, published 20 May. The statute transferred 10 percent stakes in MOL and Gedeon Richter plus Budapest real estate to the MCC-running foundation, locking a public endowment that an ordinary majority cannot easily reclaim. Deputy Prime Minister [Zsolt Semjén](/people/zsolt-semjen) tabled the bill; [Balázs Orbán](/people/balazs-orban) later chaired the board. This Fact is that dated asset-transfer statute. It is not Lex CEU, not a later cash grant, and not a personality. Official text sits in the National Legal Database; Reuters' contemporaneous report is the independent file.
