# Hungary adopts Act LXVIII of 2019, moving Academy research institutes into a government network

On 2 July 2019 the [National Assembly](/organizations/national-assembly) adopted Act LXVIII of 2019, creating the Eötvös Loránd Research Network and transferring the [Hungarian Academy of Sciences](/organizations/hungarian-academy-of-sciences)' research institutes out of Academy self-government. Nature and other independent outlets recorded a loss of academic autonomy. This Fact is that dated statute.
