# Hungary adopts Act CXVI of 2018, raising overtime banks in the so-called slave law

On 12 December 2018 the [National Assembly](/organizations/national-assembly) adopted Act CXVI of 2018 amending the Labour Code, raising the overtime bank to 400 hours and stretching settlement to three years. Street protests followed. This Fact is that dated labour statute. It is not the 2023 teachers' status law, not a later strike ban taken alone, and not a personality.
