# Hungary adopts the Tenth Amendment, letting the government declare a state of danger over a neighbouring war

On 24 May 2022 the [National Assembly](/organizations/national-assembly) adopted the Tenth Amendment to the Fundamental Law, authorising a state of danger in case of armed conflict, war, or humanitarian disaster in a neighbouring country. The government declared that state of danger the next day. This Fact is that amendment sitting. It is not the 2020 COVID emergency husk, not the later Ukraine state-of-danger decree taken alone, and not a personality.
