# Komnas HAM findings and a TNI dismissal sit on the 1998 activist-abduction file Date: 1998 ## The fact In 1997–98, Kopassus’s Tim Mawar abducted pro-democracy activists. Nine were later released; thirteen remain missing. Around the May 1998 crisis, the file became public. An Officers Honorary Council (DKP) in August 1998 recommended Prabowo’s dismissal from the TNI.
