# Governor Jeb Bush orders feeding tube reinserted under 'Terri's Law'

On 21 October 2003 the Florida legislature passed 'Terri's Law', and Governor [Jeb Bush](/people/jeb-bush) used it the same afternoon to order Terri Schiavo's feeding tube reinserted, less than two hours after the vote. The tube had been removed nearly a week earlier at her husband's request under a court ruling. The Florida Supreme Court struck the law down in 2004.
