# Jho Low agrees to forfeit about $700 million in assets

On 30 October 2019 the U.S. Justice Department announced a settlement of its civil forfeiture case under which financier [Jho Low](/people/jho-low) and his family agreed to give up assets worth about $700 million in the U.S., the UK and Switzerland. The assets were allegedly bought with money taken from Malaysia's 1MDB fund; Low admitted no wrongdoing.
