# DOJ publishes Minneapolis policing findings (2023); findings withdrawn (2025)

On 16 June 2023 the [U.S. Department of Justice](/organizations/justice-us-doj) published pattern-or-practice findings concerning the [Minneapolis Police Department](/organizations/minneapolis-police-department), announced by Attorney General [Merrick Garland](/people/merrick-garland). In May 2025 the Department dismissed the investigation and withdrew the prior findings. This record documents Garland's historical 2023 official action and does not present the findings as the Department's current position.
