# Kósa embroiled in 'Csenger inheritance' scandal

In March 2018 Fidesz politician [Lajos Kósa](/people/lajos-kosa) was reported to have been entrusted by a Csenger woman claiming a multi-billion-euro German inheritance with buying government bonds; the sum was put at 4.3 billion euros. Kósa called the story a [sham](/people/jimmy-sham) and denied handling any money, and the woman's lawyer sought his questioning as a witness. Prosecutors later treated him as a witness, and the woman faced fraud charges.
