# Prosecutors charge Lempart over 2020 protests

In 2021 Polish prosecutors charged [Marta Lempart](/people/marta-lempart) and two other Women's Strike leaders with creating an epidemiological threat by organising the 2020 abortion-ruling protests during the pandemic; Lempart also faced charges of insulting a police officer and praising church vandalism. She called the charges political, and in October 2024 a court acquitted all three on every count.
