# Carlos Mazón resigns as Valencian president

On 3 November 2025 [Carlos Mazón](/people/carlos-mazon) announced his resignation as president of the Generalitat Valenciana, a year after the October 2024 floods that killed more than 220 people in the region. He had faced sustained protests over his whereabouts and the late emergency alert on the day of the disaster.
