# Spain approves a new Foreigners Regulation expected to regularise about 300,000 people per year

Date: 2024

On 19 November 2024 Spain's Council of Ministers approved a new Foreigners Regulation intended to simplify legal migration procedures and improve labour-market integration. The government estimated that the regulation could regularise about 300,000 people per year over its first three years. This record concerns the 2024 regulation and does not conflate it with a later extraordinary-regularisation process.
