# Armed attack hit the Mothers' Day opposition march

A major peaceful march held on Nicaragua's Mother's Day in support of the Mothers of April was attacked. Amnesty International personnel present at the demonstration reported firearms attacks by police and pro-government armed groups. The IACHR later said armed civilians and shock groups acted in coordination and collaboration with police forces during the events and called for investigation, justice and reparation.
