In November 1923 parliament passed the Acerbo Law: the list with a plurality above a threshold would take two-thirds of Chamber seats. [Mussolini](/people/benito-mussolini)’s government wrote and whipped the law.

This is not yet the 1924 murders. It is the legal machine that made 1924’s violence convertible into a packed Chamber.
