# Nagy's ministry becomes Ministry for National Economy

Date: 2024

From 1 January 2024 [Márton Nagy](/people/marton-nagy)'s Ministry for Economic Development continued with expanded powers as the Ministry for National Economy, and he led the government's Economic Cabinet. The reorganised ministry took on additional areas such as trade and tourism, making it the government's main economic portfolio.
