# Olly Robbins seeks judicial review of his dismissal

Former Foreign Office permanent under-secretary [Olly Robbins](/people/olly-robbins) applied on 13 July 2026 for a judicial review of Prime Minister [Keir Starmer](/people/keir-starmer)'s decision to fire him over the [Peter Mandelson](/people/peter-mandelson) vetting affair. His union said the dismissal was procedurally unfair and questioned whether the prime minister had the power to remove the head of the diplomatic service.
