In 1567 Arthur Golding issued The XV Bookes of P. Ovidius Naso, the first complete English Metamorphoses. It is not a 1 CE recitation.

## Context

English myth in print is a teaching path. Golding’s Protestant moral frames are his, not [Ovid](/people/ovid)’s. Later expurgations still used this base.
