# European Parliament approves EU4Health, the bloc's largest-ever health programme

On 9 March 2021 the European Parliament approved the EU4Health programme for 2021-2027 by 631 votes to 32 with 34 abstentions. Its EUR 5.1 billion budget included at least 20 percent for disease prevention and health promotion and measures to strengthen health systems and preparedness, including reserves of vaccines and other essential medical supplies.
