# Guernica is shown in the Spanish Republican pavilion as anti-fascist public speech Date: 1937 ## The fact In July 1937 the Spanish pavilion presented Guernica to the Paris exposition public as part of the Republic’s case. ## Context A world’s fair is not a ballot. It is still public speech against a bombing. Later tours for refugee funds are a further humanitarian row. [Pablo Picasso](/people/pablo-picasso) is not the sole author of every later object, law, or museum label that uses the name.
