# Polt becomes president of the Constitutional Court

In 2025 [Péter Polt](/people/peter-polt) left the prosecutor general's office and was elected president of Hungary's Constitutional Court. Parliament first chose him as a constitutional judge in May 2025, and on 11 June 2025 elected him the court's president in a secret ballot with 134 votes in favour and 13 against.
