# The Raphael Cartoons go on long public display at the South Kensington Museum / V&A

## The fact

From the 1860s the cartoons, on loan from the Crown, became a South Kensington/V&A teaching set for design and scripture-in-art. [Raphael](/people/raphael) designed for Leo’s weavers, not for Victorian students.

## Context
