# Global internal displacement hits record 75.9 million at end of 2023

IDMC's 2024 Global Report on Internal Displacement found that 75.9 million people were living in internal displacement at the end of 2023 — a record — of whom 68.3 million were displaced by conflict and violence and 7.7 million by disasters, reflecting major crises in Sudan, Gaza, Ukraine and the DRC.
