# Söder orders crosses in Bavarian state buildings

Date: 2018

On 24 April 2018 the Bavarian cabinet led by [Markus Söder](/people/markus-soder) ordered that crosses be hung at the entrances of state government buildings. Söder himself put up a cross in the entrance hall of the state chancellery. Church leaders and opposition parties criticised the decision.
