# Tehran Conference commits the Allies to a second front and Soviet western gains Date: 1943 ## The fact At Tehran, 28 November–1 December 1943, Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill agreed that Overlord would be launched in May 1944, discussed Poland’s borders, and coordinated the war against Germany. Stalin promised a later Soviet attack on Japan. Later speeches, the cult, and measured deaths are not mixed into this Fact. ## Context Stalingrad and Kursk had already shifted the eastern front. Tehran is a coalition protocol, not a Soviet unilateral decree. Yalta later specified more. Shared responsibility with the Politburo, Sovnarkom, NKVD, front commands, and later the State Defence Committee is part of the record.
