# Istanbul talks fail to produce a ceasefire

In March–April 2022 Ukrainian and Russian delegations met in Istanbul. Drafts circulated; no treaty was signed. Later Bucha documentation and Russian maximalism are part of the collapse. A failed talk is not a completed peace.
