# Ukraine mounts a humanitarian response after the Kakhovka dam destruction

On 6 June 2023 the Kakhovka dam was destroyed. Kyiv blamed Russia; Moscow blamed Ukraine. The presidential government ran evacuations and drinking-water responses. Attribution of the blast is contested; the humanitarian response is documented.
